Randy (owner/guide) has been fishing since he was 5 years old. As Randy was growing up, he had the opportunity to fish rivers in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Florida's (surf and backwaters.) For the past 20 years, he has been fishing the Trinity River and the Lower Sacramento River. He has passed on all of his knowledge to his son Nick (partner/guide) who has been fishing the Trinity and Lower Sac since he was 4 years old. Nick and Randy have put all of their knowledge and experience together from time spent on the rivers. Between both of them combined experience is 57 years of their knowledge to perfect fishing techniques. Therefore, they can pass on their knowledge to anyone who comes along, young or old. They both have taught countless guides who has booked with them to learn there techniques. They enjoy being on the river teaching and making people happy. By hooking them up with their dream, come true. (To See That Smile) That is what it is all about, that Tightline Rush! In addition, Randy was Vice President and President of the Shasta-Trinity Fly Fishers 2003-2004. |
We consider ourselves one of the best with hook-ups that reach the double-digits almost every time we go out on the river. With the Redding area having year round resident wild rainbows that average 19” and up, both rivers produce good size fish. Salmon in the Sac. Average 30 lbs and up, salmon on the Trinity average 15 lbs. and up, and steelhead that can reach up to 16 lbs. With the occasional German Brown showing up on the end of your line.
